The popular Brocklesby Point-to-Point races take place on Saturday at Brocklesby Park by kind permission of the Earl and Countess of Yarborough. This will be a special meeting as it marks the 200th anniversary of racing at Brocklesby. A souvenir race card and exhibition will chart the history of Brocklesby races since the first recorded race in 1821. The Cottesmore meeting on Sunday 27th February is the traditional Garthorpe curtain-raiser every season but returns this year after a two-year break having become one of the victims of the COVID lockdown in 2021. On the 5th March 2022, the Brocklesby point-to-point will take place, marking 200 years of horse racing on the estate. Prior to the 19th century several unofficial matches took place, but the earliest recorded race took place on 27th March 1821.
