Karaka De Thaix heads to Tattersalls Cheltenham March sale on Thursday 13th March after winning the Tattersalls sponsored four and five year old maiden race at Charm Park near Scarborough last weekend.

The son of Cokoriko, trained, ridden and part owned by leading Midlands area operator Dale Peters, won the young horse maiden at the Yorkshire course by 4 lengths in a time of 5 minutes and 5 seconds. March on Oxo, second, is trained by former top jump jockey Tom Scudamore.

Charm Park maidens have recently produced a couple of top rules performers with Touch Me Not (Tom Ellis) falling at the last when clear in 2023. He was subsequently sold to Gordon Elliot before winning a Grade Two in Ireland and is set to appear in the Arkle Novice Chase at Cheltenham this week. In  the 2024 renewal Dale Peters picked up this race with the now Grade One placed Miami Magic.

Karaka De Thaix was bred in France by M. Bourgneuf and hails from the family of stakes performers Henri The Second and Enrilo. The gelding was purchased by Peters and his joint owner Toby Hunt at the 2023 Goffs Spring Store Sale at Doncaster from Johnny Collins’s Brown Island Stables.

The Tattersalls Cheltenham March sale takes place in the winners enclosure following the last race of the day.
